Yeti Tour Snowmobile Ride
Yeti Tour Update 1-24-12
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wednesday January 25th, 2012Duluth, MN
In rural Minnesota, at the end of January, never did one think a snowmobile fundraising event would not be held due to lack of snow. However, this is the case. Yeti Tour participants are not discouraged about not being able to make the 200 mile trek through Northern Minnesota because they are still chasing something legendary in the hope that one day all babies will be born healthy.
Although the ride will not be taking place this weekend events will still be held. As for the Yeti, riders should still keep watch out off the trails this weekend. The legend will go on and so does the fight for a day that all babies will be born healthy.
The Yeti Tour event was started by Nate and Kelly Alvar ofDuluthwho lost two children to complications with birth defects and premature birth. Nate Alvar says, “We’re dedicated to raise money and awareness (for the March of Dimes) so that no other parents will have to go through what we went through and all babies get the chance at life they deserve.”
March of Dimes Division Director Kim Parmeter said, “Nate and Kelly (Alvar) are such passionate supporters of the March of Dimes mission to give every baby a healthy start. Organizing this event was an incredible volunteer undertaking and inspiring tribute to the memory of their children Isaiah & Mason and in honor of their three year old son Jonas. We’re so very appreciative of the volunteers and participants that are coming together to make this event a success.”
There is still time to get involved. Participants for the snowmobile ride are encouraged to continue selling raffle tickets, and raise money to support their participation in the tour. Fundraising incentives have been set for the riders who raise the most through raffle tickets and non raffle related donations. The raffle drawing will be held at Black Bear Casino & Resort at 9pm on Saturday night. For questions or more information call organizer Nate Alvar at 218-724-4373 or logon to www.yetitour.com.
Yeti Tour organizers are thankful to the following sponsors for their generous support: RJ Sport & Cycle, The Sunset Bar & Grill, Black Bear Casino & Resort, Davidson Creative, Arrowhead Printing, Yamaha, Red Rock Radio Winter fest 2012, and Dubh Linn Irish Brew Pub.
